Jonah Water Rates Effective February 10, 2026
Jonah Water’s published residential water rates increased on February 10, 2026. The monthly bill includes a fixed base charge determined by meter size and a consumption charge based on gallons used.
Monthly Residential Water Base Charges
| Meter Size | Monthly Base Charge |

| 3 inch | $395.30 |
| 4 inch | $395.30 |
| 6 inch | $988.25 |
Larger commercial or specialized meters have different published base charges. Confirm your meter size before calculating the fixed portion of a bill.
Residential Water Consumption Rates
| Monthly Water Usage | Rate per 1,000 Gallons |
|---|---|
| First 15,000 gallons | $3.76 |

| Above 50,000 gallons | $9.27 |
The rate is tiered. Gallons within the first block are billed at the first-tier rate. Additional gallons move into the higher-priced blocks.
Published Water Bill Examples
Jonah Water provides the following examples for standard residential water service with a 5/8-inch or 3/4-inch meter.
| Monthly Usage | Estimated Water Bill |

For a standard 5/8-inch residential meter:

- Consumption: 6 × $3.76 = $22.56
- Water-only total: $62.09
This example excludes any separate service fees or non-water charges.

Late Fees, Disconnection and Water Reconnection
Jonah Water bills monthly, and the due date depends on the customer’s assigned billing cycle.
The district’s published new-customer guidance lists the following late-payment rules:
| Situation | Published Rule |
|---|---|
| Past-due balance of $50 or less | $5 late fee |
| Past-due balance over $50 | 10% late fee |
| Due date falls on a weekend or holiday | Due date moves to the following business day |
| Nonpayment after due date | Water may be disconnected 10 days after the due date |
| Reconnection after nonpayment | Payment of amounts due, late fees and a $75 reconnection fee |
Jonah Water states that not receiving a bill or disconnection notice does not remove the responsibility to pay on time.
Water Already Disconnected?
- Call 512-759-1286.
- Provide your account number and service address.
- Confirm the unpaid balance, late fees and reconnection charges.
- Pay through the authorized method accepted for reconnecting the account.

See Jonah Water New Customer Information for the published billing basics.
How to Start Jonah Water Service at a New Address
Jonah Water serves parts of several cities in Williamson County, not every address within those cities. Before submitting an application, confirm that Jonah Water is the provider for your property.
Steps for New Customers
- Check your service provider. Confirm that the property receives water through Jonah Water SUD.
- Open the new-customer page. Visit Jonah Water New Customer Information.
- Choose the correct service-area packet. The district provides different customer information documents for Hutto, Georgetown, Round Rock, Weir, Siena, Rancho San Gabriel, Flora and other service areas.
- Prepare your application. Use the form appropriate for your service location and customer type.
- Confirm account requirements. Ask the office about deposits, identification, service activation and any transfer or connection charges.
- Submit the completed documents. Follow Jonah Water’s instructions or visit a customer service office.
- Confirm the activation date. Do not assume water will automatically remain active after the previous occupant moves out.
Renters and Property Owners
The district provides a Renter’s New Account Information Form and a Transfer of Ownership form through its official documents page.
Open Jonah Water All Forms & Reports.
If you recently purchased a home, confirm the transfer documents needed. If renting, check whether the water account must be in your name or whether utility charges are handled by a property manager.
New Water Meter Installation vs. Starting Existing Service
Opening a customer account at a home with an installed water meter is different from requesting a new physical connection.
Jonah Water’s 2026 Rate Order lists a $9,500 standard water connection fee for construction and installation of a new standard water connection, subject to applicable rules.
The rate order also lists:
- Standard sewer connection fee: $3,500
- Standard sewer contract capital fee: $1,068
- Possible additional costs: Larger meters, road crossings, line extensions and other extraordinary work.
These are infrastructure connection fees. They are not the standard charge for simply taking over an existing household water account.
Before Buying or Developing Property
- Confirm the parcel’s exact location and proposed land use.
- Ask Jonah Water whether service is available at the property.
- Open the official Forms & Reports page.
- Review the New Meter Application and Feasibility Study Form.
- Ask the district whether engineering review, easements or a line extension will be necessary.
- Request a project-specific cost assessment before assuming the standard connection fee covers all work.
This distinction is particularly important for new residential construction and subdivision projects in rapidly developing parts of Williamson County.
High Water Bill? Check for Leaks and Irrigation Problems
Jonah Water reads its meters monthly. If your bill is much higher than normal, first compare the amount of water used rather than only the total dollar amount.
Usage above 15,000 gallons enters the district’s second residential rate tier, so outdoor watering can increase costs more quickly.
What to Check Before Calling
- Compare consumption. Review gallons used on the current bill against the previous month.
- Check toilets. A running toilet may waste water continuously without obvious noise.
- Inspect irrigation equipment. Look for broken sprinkler heads, leaking valves and repeated watering schedules.
- Check outdoor faucets. Make sure hose bibs and garden connections are not leaking.
- Look for unexplained meter activity. If all water use is stopped but the meter still indicates flow, you may have a leak.
- Contact Jonah Water. Ask about the meter reading and the district’s leak-review process.
Do not tamper with a water meter or utility-owned equipment. Contact the district if you need a meter inspection.
Can Jonah Water Adjust a Bill After a Leak?
Jonah Water has published a See a Leak and Save program and water conservation resources. However, not every leak or unusually high bill automatically qualifies for an adjustment.
Keep repair invoices, receipts and dates documenting when the problem was fixed. Contact the district to confirm the current eligibility requirements and whether an adjustment application is available for your account.
Jonah Water Stage 2 Drought Restrictions in 2026
Jonah Water announced compulsory Stage 2 drought restrictions on August 19, 2026.
The official drought page describes restrictions on outdoor irrigation, vehicle washing, pool filling and other nonessential water uses.
What the Published Stage 2 Rules Include
- Outdoor irrigation limited to designated days based on the service address.
- No landscape watering between 10 AM and 8 PM.
- Limits on filling swimming pools, spas and ornamental fountains.
- Restrictions on vehicle washing outside permitted conditions.
- Prohibition on washing driveways, sidewalks and building exteriors except for specified safety purposes.
- No unauthorized fire-hydrant use.
The exact watering days depend on the district’s current restrictions and your service address.
How to Confirm Your Watering Schedule
- Open Jonah Water Drought Contingency.
- Read the active drought stage shown on the official page.
- Open the applicable Stage 2 response document.
- Find the schedule for your address number.
- Adjust your irrigation controller and outdoor water use accordingly.
Water Outage, Low Pressure or Water Main Break
If you experience no water, a sudden pressure drop or a possible water main break, report the problem to Jonah Water.
Main contact: 512-759-1286
Before Reporting a Problem
- Check whether the issue affects one faucet or the entire property.
- If safe, ask whether nearby customers are experiencing the same problem.
- Check the district’s official website for service notices.
- Write down the exact service address and when the problem began.
- Call Jonah Water and explain the symptoms.
For a private plumbing leak, use a safely accessible household shutoff if appropriate and contact a qualified plumber.
Water Quality Reports
Jonah Water provides annual drinking-water quality information through its official website.
Visit JonahWater.com and select Water Quality Report to access the district’s available Consumer Confidence Reports.
The district explains that its water supply includes treated surface water from the Brazos River Authority, sourced from Lake Granger, as well as groundwater from the Edwards and associated limestone formations.
For an active boil-water notice or emergency advisory, follow the district’s current alert rather than relying only on an annual water quality report.
