Online portal supports Auto Pay. Paper-form Auto Pay changes require calling 920-459-3800 Option 2.
Paperless

Tax roll
Past-due amounts added to property taxes must go to County Treasurer, not Water Utility.
Start from SheboyganWater.org
Do not search and click ads. Open the official “View or Pay Your Bill” page and then choose Returning Users or New Users / One Time Payment.
Match your account number
Use the account number exactly as shown on the bill. The first two digits also tell you which quarterly billing cycle applies.
Check whether the balance is still payable to the Utility
If a delinquent amount has already moved to property taxes, pay through the Sheboygan County Treasurer route instead of the Water Utility portal.
Save proof
Keep confirmation number, amount, date/time, last four digits and screenshot until the next bill or account balance confirms posting.

High Bill or Leak: Check the Meter First
1. Turn water off
Make sure all indoor and outdoor water is off, including irrigation, washer, dishwasher and filters.
2. Record meter
Write down or photograph the meter reading.
3. Wait 15 minutes
Do not use any water during the test.
4. Compare reading
If the meter recorded use, it might be a leak. The test detects large leaks, not all small leaks.
| High-bill clue | What to check | Proof to save |
|---|---|---|
| Usage in CCF jumped | Multiply CCF by 748 to estimate gallons; compare daily use. | Current and previous bills. |
| Meter moved during 15-minute test | Look for toilets, humidifier, softener, filters, irrigation or underground leak. | Before/after meter photos. |
| Toilet suspected | Check flapper/flush valve; silent leaks can run continuously. | Repair receipt and date fixed. |
| Low flow after main break | Check faucet aerator screens for debris. | Note which faucet is affected. |
| Seasonal change | Check outside hoses, garden watering, power washing, pool/fill use. | Dates and explanation. |
| Unknown reason | Call Utility with account number and usage details. | Bill, meter photo, repair proof. |
Outage, Water Shutdown or Discolored Water
Known outage?
Check the Public Outage Map. It shows planned and unplanned known outages.

After-hours
Call 920-459-3811 for after-hours emergencies.
| After main break / shutdown | Sheboygan guidance | Do not do this |
|---|---|---|
| Orange/red water | Discoloration after main breaks can be sediment; flush it out. | Do not consume discolored water. |
| Flushing step 1 | Turn on cold water from a faucet closest to your meter until clear. | Do not use hot water first. |
| If not clear in 5-10 minutes | Wait 30 minutes, then try again. | Do not keep running hot water through water heater/filter. |
| Knocking sound | May be air in the line during flushing. | Do not assume it means plumbing failure immediately. |
| Reduced faucet flow | Check faucet aerator screen for debris and clean it. | Do not ignore clogged screens after a main break. |
| Still not resolved | Contact Utility during normal business hours for guidance. | Do not use contact form for urgent emergency. |
